Estate Sale News - February 2016

Estate Sale News - February 2016

Every week we scour the internet for the latest estate sale and auction news to share with you. We also add a few links we think you'll love if you are into estate sale shopping.

Dawn Lesicko, the owner of Caring Transitions Carlsbad, is expanding her business to include all of San Diego County. Leiscko opened her first Caring Transitions last year serving California communities including served Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista and San Marcos as well as the surrounding communities. Her expanded business will now also serve the coastal area between La Jolla and Encinitas. We want to send out a big congratulations to Dawn and wish her continued success!

One lucky estate sale shopper recently picked up a painting at an estate sale for $5,000. If your thinking that quite a lot, think twice, that same shopper recently sold the painting for $5.2 million. We call that one lucky find!

Links We Love

Are you still a knick knack collector or have you given it up in favor of a more minimalist approach? We tend to agree with this fascinating article that the era of the shelf sitter may well be coming to an end. What do you think?

Many people don't think how what they leave behind may effect their family. This beautiful essay by the estate lady is a gentle reminder that some things may not be worth holding on to, in fact holding onto things may hurt others in the end. It also illuminates one of the harder aspects of working in the estate liquidation business.

And last but not least our favorite estate sale find from around the web this week - an amazing 1940's dress! We are in love with the colors.

So much fun at #hortonshayride #1940sdress from my next #estatesale went pretty well with the #lincolnzephyr Thanx  @rockabillyjesus for another perfect weekend!! #funkybungalowestatesales

We love memoirs, but even more, we love when something of historical value found at an estate sale is preserved. This ex-convicts memoir, found at an estate sale, is haunting and is now publicly available for the first time in an edited format: The Life and the Adventures of a Haunted Convict.
